Small techie problems
About a week ago, the "backup hard drive" on BookMooch died. Not a big deal, it just needs to be replaced. And this week, some occasional slowdowns came and went. Not sure yet what's causing that (it can be an out of control "web spider" for instance). A few hours ago, my helper Rich and I tried to put a new backup drive in, but we had some technical problems getting it to work. So, BookMooch is back up again this week, but in 7 days we'll take it down for a few hours again to try to put a new backup drive in. Please pardon the dust!

John, you have to understand what you have done here. By creating a site whose mission is a sort of effortless altruism you have attracted a user base that consists of mostly positive, supportive folks. Considering we have not heard from our intrepid captain in some time you have essentially triggered the pent up positivity that has been dormant for a bit too long. Who knows maybe the diametric opposite of all this that is brewing out there in the world currently has only intensified the urge in folks who are as I say naturally inclined towards it also to do so. To reinforce my thesis: You Rock, John!

Where I live we often say "everything is relative" - it's a small country and I live in a small kibbutz. Your "small" techie problem is someting that would likely have brought me to a standstill, so I join the many others saying "THANK YOU" for what you do and updating us about any problems anticipated.
Reading is the BEST (after chocolate that is) :P
