Gifting points to another member

I have mooched a bunch of books in a series from another member. They then asked if I wanted to mooch another two books in the series and asked me to gift them the points for these mooches (for whatever reason the regular way - them adding the books, me receiving an email to mooch them etc - didn't work).

My question is how I go about this? I tried to the 'give points away' page and accidently gave away 6 points to some charity in the UK with (apparently) the same name as the moocher in the US I'm mooching from. I don't care about the lost points, but I want to figure out how to transfer the credits to the sender.

This option is called "smooch". You go to the user's profile, and on the right side there's a bunch of buttons, one of them being "smooch". That's how you give points to some user directly.

You can do it from the charity page, which is easier for multiple points than smooching. Just make sure you use the member's BM ID (which you can find on their profile page under their name) rather than just their name. As you have discovered, more than one member can have the same name.

ETA actually you gave points to a completely inactive account in the UK, not a charity. I emailed tech support to see if it would be possible to get your points back.

shi click the "abuse" button and explain the mix-up with your points. They should be able to give them back to you.
