TRAPPED

Samantha heard Connor's footsteps behind her, growing closer, and her despair gave her added speed. Then she felt his arms catching her as her legs collapsed under her, and he turned her around to face him.

"What the hell?" Connor cursed under his breath as he felt the slim, womanly body beneath the rough clothes.

Her eyes met his, and he flinched at the unhappiness in them. He couldn't tear himself away from the glistening dark blue whirlpools swirling with such naked emotion.

A girl, for God's sake. A slip of a girl. And she had fooled them all. He didn't understand the surge of warmth and protectiveness that flooded him.

Suddenly she was in his arms and he was stroking her hair. He tipped her face up to his, and she reached, almost desperately, for his lips. Connor could feel her trembling, and it spawned a hunger and desire he hadn't expected. As he pressed his lips to hers, there was a sweetness and longing that did more to arouse him than any experienced passion. His arms tightened around her, and reason left them both.
