Amazon.com Review
This little book of Asian myths and traditions would make a lovely shower gift for any mother-to-be. Lotus Seeds and Lucky Stars is filled with advice about conception (if it occurs at noon, the child will vomit a lot), remedies for pregnancy discomforts (including ginger tea and herbal concoctions), details about ancient Thai and Burmese birthing practices, and information about the Asian zodiac. Many of these superstitions, remedies, and stories will be new to Western ears. And though "Aunty's Kidney and Liver Stew" and "Korean Seaweed Soup" may not become staple foods for the postpartum mothers you know, this book rings with wisdom, all of it fascinating and entertaining. --Ericka Lutz
