A well-written & equally well-researched biographical novel of the two woman who shared his life. Surprisingly the two women couldn't have been more different. Edith was quiet, reserved, serious-minded, always in tight control of her emotions while Alice was vivacious, warm, and outgoing, her nickname summed her up, "Sunshine." An excellent, entertaining historical novel that brings these two ladies to life as well as the period.
