I am generally happy to send books overseas, unless the book is really huge! Sometimes there might be a short delay before I can send a book, usually only a week or so. I send by International Economy mail which means that you ought to receive your mooch between 10-25 days after it's sent, all going well. No pets or smokers in my household, though I can't vouch the same for any secondhand books.
