Lindsay's Suggestions!!!

Keeping with the first book being a YA book, here are my suggestions:

Intertwined- Gena Showalter

The Hollow- Jessica Verday

Fallen- Lauren Kate

Uglies- Scott Westerfield

Shiver- Maggie Stiefvater

Speak- Laurie Halse Anderson

The Faerie Path- Frewin Jones

Undone- Rachel Caine

All of these books are the first in their series, please keep that in mind when making suggestions- stand alones or first in a series may go over better.

Please leave comments if you would wish to add any of these to our reading list!

Thanks!!!

This is fantastic!!!! I'm voting for Gena Showalter's Intertwined or Scott Westerfeld's Uglies. I've heard lots of good things about the Uglies series and I wouldn't mind re-reading Intertwined since really enjoyed it the first time I read it. Also, it might help me refresh my memory in preparation for the second book in the series. Just let me know and I'll check back here every so often.

Great job, Lindsay!!!

I'm definitely interested in participating if I can get my hands on the chosen titles. Great idea to start a book club.

Books I've heard positive comments on that I'd like considered at sometime are The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and the Mortal Instruments trilogy by Cassandra Clare.
I think these books are in high demand at libraries at the moment so maybe they could be considered in the future when copies would be easier to come by?

I think the bookclub is a fantastic idea. I love YA books and I have so many on my list that I want to read. It will be great to have the opportunity to read and chat about them together :)

From Lindsay's suggestions, I'd go with either Fallen by Lauren Kate or Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I know I certainly have both of these on my bookshelves at home.

I'd also second Diana's idea to read the Hunger Games and Mortal Instruments trilogies at some point. These seem to be extremely popular and I'm sure would be fairly easy to obtain.

Hi all,
I work in an alternate school as well as privately with teens and have many nieces and nephews so I try to keep up with YA fiction. I've read Hunger Games but not the sequels and the first two of the Cassandra Clare trilogy (the third is in the TBR mountain). I've read (or at least skimmed through) most of the others. I would also recommend Holly Black's books (Tithe, Valiant and Ironside). As well as the series by Maria Snyder that starts with Storm Glass.

hi

I'm going to join this fun forum, or at least lurk here

I'm not a huge YA reader, but if you read something I like, I'll read too :)
