How does Angel Network actually work

I have made donations to the Bookmooch Angel Network, but never asked for help. Couls someone please explain their services to me??

I just had a member in Germany request three heavy books. I agreed to accept the request (I hate to say NO). Can Bookmooch Angel Network assist me with shipping the books?? I believe the total weight of the books will be about 7lbs. I am guessing the cost will be over $25. I would be shipping books from New York State.

I don't think they provide postage help. How it works is that someone in Germany (for example) would see books listed on a US member's inventory but that member would not be open to International mailing. The Angel would be another US member that mooched the books domestically and then posted them to the German member. The angel spends the money to send the books and they end up with a two credit per book "profit".

Keep in mind that you will be getting 9 credits for the three books, so it will be $2.78 per credit (if it was exactly $25). That is not much more than the $2.69 that media mail costs now for a book under 16 ounces.
