inventory

Help again please. Is there any way I can suspend my inventory temporarily without cancelling it altogether? I now have over 200 points, which I'm having difficulty in spending as so few books are coming up on my (very long wishlist) Also, with Christmas looming, and I'm on a very limited budget, I can't really afford the postage to send out at the moment. I already have 22 books waiting to go out and am struggling to find the postage for these, but as I have a long inventory, I don't really want to have to type all these in again, even if I could remember them all, in a few months time, when I might have a bit more cash to spare, and might need to recoup (hopefully) some points. I obviously don't want to go on vacation, as I'm really hoping to mooch a few more books soon. Thanks, Rose.

p.s. the ones on my wishlist showing "mooch" at the moment I may already have, but cannot get at the boxes to check just now, as they are upstairs, where I can't get any more.

No, there is no way to suspend you inventory at present. All you can do is put a message in your status indicating you will be unable to send until after Christmas (or something to that effect) and hope people pay attention when they mooch. Be sure to date your status message so people see that it is current.

You can put your account on vacation by clicking the Account button on your home page, and it will suspend your inventory from being listed when moochers are doing searches. You'll still get wish list notifications. When you want to mark somehing received or do a search or add to your wish list, you de-vacation yourself by logging in again each time and, as I remember, you have to click a button and fill in the security check line to confirm you're back from vacation. Then after you've done whatever you went into your account to do, make sure to put yourself back on vacation. I did this when my handy branch post office closed and it took me a couple of weeks to figure out where I could send books without standing in the long lines at our main PO. It worked very well excpet for one time when I forgot to re-vacation myself and a request came through because my inentory was accessible again.

If I'm wrong about this, please will some member of longer standing correct me.
