Adding to book descriptions?
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm new on the site since yesterday and haven't quite figured out where everything is stored. Three of the books I added by their ISBN showed up in my inventory without author names. Is there any way to add the names myself or to have BookMooch staff do this? I'm sure they're more likely to be requested with an author name on them. Or would the best thing be to delete them and then hand-list them with the authors names included? Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Margaret, welcome to Bookmooch. I would usually always use the ISBN, since many people search my ISBN and it is the most accurate. However, if the book entry doesn't link to the Amazon page and there is a different listing that has the author name, I might choose that one instead. If the book detail page still doesn't link to the Amazon page, then you might want to cut and paste a synopsis of the book in the "Book Review" section. Unfortunately book entries can't be edited. You can always hand-enter a book but that should be used as a last resort since they are hard to find on most searches.

Well, it's very odd - I followed the Amazon link, where the two books by Kenneth Cameron were listed with their author's name, so I clicked on Add to Inventory. I got a screen saying they already were in my inventory, so I went there and deleted them, then went back through the Amazon link and tried again to add them, which it did, but still without the author's name. I think the next step is your add-review option. Thanks for your help.

Margaret, I've seen that before: the book listing when you find it through the Amazon search has the author, but when you click on book details the author name doesn't show. A glitch I guess.
