Newbie Introductions
We used to do this a lot in the old forum, I thought I'd reintroduce the practice. Some Canadian newbies: Meghan Ask First. Barbie mysteries Michelle Only to my Country (at the moment, I've encouraged her to change that) YA fiction Australian: Steph Ask First. eclectic and educational

How do you "discover" the newbies?

Ok, so after I THINK I've figured out the link thing...now it doesn't work. Weird.

Robin, on the linking, stick an m/ after the .com or .uk and see if that works better. I find newbies as a side effect of finding inactives, but also when wishlist books pop up. You can also take a page from any of the country pages and look for accounts with some inventory and 0 feedback. You will find some inactives and some newbies that way. If you go to the "recent" page and pick a country and scroll down looking for quite a few books posted by the same member, you can often find newbies that way as well.

Well, I tried adding the m/ or a /m in a variety of ways to the address below, and just couldn't make it work. hmmmm

Robin, it worked when I changed the .co.uk to .com. Weird that. I wonder if that is some kind of programing glitch that John should look at.

Interesting. You know better than I do if John has time/energy to deal with this sort of thing. It hasn't been a HUGE hassle...but maybe it could lead to other issues?

@Robin, I don't know if I know any more about John's programming to do list than you do. I'm just a busy-body Bookmooch member who likes solving problems, not an admin or anything. I only moderate the Inactive Accounts Clean-up Project 'cause I started the forum which gives me admin privileges for that forum. Anyone can do that. I was just thrilled when you and Kerry and Lynn and the Debbie's and the others joined in a big way with an project that I had been stabbing away at slowly by myself (it seemed, I know other people have been doing it too) for a year or so.

Awww, Cara, you've been SO helpful, and such a presence in the forums, I just knew you had to be a Mod. I guess that's what I get for assuming. And, I just figured you had chatted with John more behind the scenes... I'm just a little hesitant to bug him too much. I know he's busy and has other things on his mind, and I am fairly new here myself, after all.
