Why don't people reply?

I've asked at least 5 people for a book, Invisible Prey by John Sanford, and nobody responds. Or they say they'll send it and they never do. What is with that? If you no longer have the book, why not just say so, and if you've dropped out, then why stay on?

I've sent nearly 500 books--that adds up to a lot of moola. How about sending what you say you will send??

That is what makes this group work, right?

I usually wait a lot longer than that!

I've seen some mention in these forums of email not being answered, possibly because it 'disappears.' Does this refer to emails between members or emails from BookMooch to members, or everything? I had a request for an audiobook last week and wanted to make sure the moocher knew that it's an audiobook and that it's missing the outer case that I suppose it had originally, which I'd put in the condition notes. I've sent two emails by clicking on the link on his BM home page and have received no answer. He's been logged in several times since then, so I'm wondering whether he got my emails or not, and should I reject the mooch, just for lack of communication. It'd be too bad to send it out if what he wanted was the bound-book version.

@Margaret H. The problem seems to be emails sent from within Bookmooch. If you send an email from your email program using the moocher's email from the original request email you might have better luck.

Thanks, Cara. I'll try that next time.
