Canadian Angel to the UK please, x
HI Would a lovely Canadian Angel be able to mooch this for me please? I know it's possible from her feedback ,and the fact she's not actually sent anything yet ,that she may never send, but I'd be willing to try and wait and see. Give her the benefit of the doubt :) This is the book... Patrick Somerville : The Cradle: A Novel
Thanks either way and happy mooching, xx

Tee hee! Good thing you love me anyhow! I finally got Aunt Jen to cough up a list of mystery/suspense/thriller books she would like to try so I'll be using more angels in the future. Thought I had better pay-it-back while I could! I've also been contacting US people who have mooched from me but who have their status set at "Only in my country" and asked them if they would support a "Only in North America" button instead. Haven't had a "no" response yet! I'm starting to feel positively giddy!

Thank you so much. Happy to help you get your mystery type books if you need help from the UK. Am often around the computer and could return the favour, xxx

Thank you Sean for giving me the benefit of the doubt. I have not been very active on the site. I did send you an email. I thought I would also post here. I received your angel's request, but did not accept or reject it. Once I get to the post office, I will figure out what will be easier for me. If it turns out that I can mail to you I will let you and the angel know that I can mail directly to you instead. I am not sure as I have never mailed to UK before!

I'm the "angel" so let me answer on behalf of Sean... he can interject if he wants! If you check your profile as I did just now, you will see that you haven't actually had a book successfully received. I know from your comment above that it's been difficult for you with your surgeries and your son... I feel for you! It's difficult for me to get to the post office as well with four children - the Canada Post website is the greatest blessing! But your profile is suspicious to anyone who doesn't know your story... you have received a book but the only book you sent out is marked "lost" (the James Patterson book you mailed to the States). As well, recently you rejected a request from someone from Israel and Sean himself requested this book earlier and cancelled it when you didn't respond. All of that shows up when we look at someone's profile to determine if we want to mooch a book. That's what Sean meant by "feedback". Once you send some books and have them marked received, your feedback will look much stronger and people will ask you directly if they can mooch from you instead of going through an angel! I hope that sorts out your confusion. We were commenting on the "profile" not you as a person - we all have things in our lives that interfere with books and mail etc. but obviously we can't see that from a site on the computer~!

Thanks for understanding, and I did not think any comment was meant to be negative towards me as a person. Yes, the James Patterson book. I guess I should have got a tracking number on that one, but I didn't! But, the next time I am at the used bookstore I plan to get it again(trade for it), and will send it to him again, as I do still have his address. I won't put it through bookmooch though as I don't want it to cost him any points. I just want to make it up to him as I know that it sucks when something that is sent to you is lost in the mail, as it has happened to me. I am wondering what to do in the meantime tough. How should I respond to your request, as I am not sure if I will send to you or to Sean?

Thanks for understanding and for not being offended... we discuss things very clinically here when we're in pursuit of a book! That's sweet of you to replace the lost book...the guy will be thrilled! The book will be reserved for me for 7 days. After that it automatically gets placed back into your inventory for someone else to mooch. So if it's going to take longer than 7 days to figure out which one of us to send to, let me know so I can reserve it again for myself! Then, if you decide to send to Sean, you simply have to go to the book, hit change reservation and put in seanat and he'll get notification that he can mooch. Whew, I hope I explained all that ok!

Great thanks! You did a great job explaining it! I sent you an email, by hitting reply to a message I got from you, but did not get a response. Not sure if it was because we are chatting through here, or if you didn't open it because you didn't know who it came from, so I thought I would mention it. It will have come from LuLu at about 1:00.

Hi Elizabeth and mumtotwo. Bizarrely I am also Liz and a mum of two :) Seanat is a mix of my two childrens names, Sean and Natalie. I didn't mean anything negative about your feedback, just that I was aware you had not been active so far and to point out to my prospective Angel that I was aware and still willing to try if he or she was.Elizabeth..as you are both Canadian you have actually mooched the book, it isn't reserved for 7 days so will not need re-mooching if 7 days pass. The mooch stands indefinately until one of you cancels or it is completed..no? It is on your pending pages already. From what others have said on forums it may actually be cheaper for Canadians to send abroad than domestically so mumtotwo could check that out. I'd be happy to mooch myself if that is the case. Send surface mail not airmail as it will be cheaper although deadly slow, plus do get 3 points to spend by sending abroad as opposed to 1 for sending within your own country. Take care, x

Hi! I was just checking out the Canada Post website and to send it surface mail will cost more than the cover price. However, because Elizabeth and I are in the same province it will cost about $4. I am not 100% sure I did it right, but I think I did! I will check with the post office ASAP. Did you receive the email I sent?

Another question (sorry, I am kind of clueless about bookmooch), how will it affect my feedback? I may be able to get to the post office within the next few days, as I do have a doctor's appointment in the same area on Monday, which I am hoping to change to this Friday. However, I won't know until I get there and check the postage rates who I will send it to. I would like to send it that same day if possible, rather than have to go back, if I decide to send to you. If it turns out I send it to you I will send an email, letting you know it was sent, and then you can request/mooch it and I will accept, as it will already be in the mail. (I think I should have your address in a past email if you tried to mooch this before!)

If Elizabeth is in the same province it may well be the cheapest option. I can email you my address in case once in the PO you decide to send to the uk instead, no problem. We could sort out the mooch requests after. Don't worry, it can all be sorted :) I have received all the posts from here, not sure about an email. And I forgot in all this to say, thank you for agreeing to send this,x

$4.00 sounds about right. It should go as lettermail in Canada because it is under 500grams and you don't need a post office for that (if that helps). I just stick three international stamps on it and pop it in the box when I take my kids to school. Never had a problem that way. Seanat, you were right of course... I haven't mooched from a Canadian in so long I forgot that we could skip right over the "reservation" stage!

Liz, I think I have the wrong postal code for you. I just noticed while checking my email that you are online at yahoo. I just sent you a chat message there, hoping you get it and reply confirming the postal code. thanks!

Think it was right but have resent just in case,x I can mooch the book only after you have cancelled Elizabeth's mooch, as it currently isn't available, just state she was Angelling book but you have agreed to send direct. Once you have a book successfully sent and received, then the earlier cancellations won't be so important. You'll visibly be an active member. Your feedback isn't afterall negative it simply implies you MAY not be active. Thanks liz x

Hi Guys, Very small thing - my name isn't "Liz" and I don't go by that name... which is why I only noticed now that these messages are written to me! I go by Elizabeth or if you are my husband, "Beth". Thanks! Then I won't miss messages in the future. Mumtotwo, I did not get your chat message but then I don't ever chat on yahoo so probably saw it and didn't know what it was. My address is correct as seen on your file. I have lots and lots of books here to prove it. I'll send you a private message with the entire thing now.

My name is Liz :) I think mumtotwo was talking to me. There does to be a mini confusion, I believe mumtotwo now wants to send to the uk. I don't chat on yahoo either, so emails here on site or on this thread are best, x

Elizabeth, "Very small thing - my name isn't "Liz" and I don't go by that name... which is why I only noticed now that these messages are written to me!" To me that is not a small thing at all. I TRY my darndest to make sure I use the right name. If anyone can understand not liking / going by a certain name I do! I just hate when people call me Mari, or Mare , or Marie etc etc. Sorry for the confusion. I was talking to Liz. Anyway, I was trying to figure out the postage online to see if it would be a better idea to send directly to Liz, like you explained to me. I had not decided where I would send yet. I did need to confirm that I had the right postal code though before I head to the post office. But since the mooch was cancelled I guess I won't send to you Elizabeth. Sorry for the confusion.
