My oldest daughter couldn't get enough of Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar when she was that age. I've recently discovered Dr Seuss' works (English isn't my first language, so it's not that obvious to me), but your son might be a little bit too young for that. Are you a member of your local library? We keep a bunch of children books from the library and rotate them every couple weeks, so our daughters (and mostly ourselves ;-)) don't get bored from reading the same books over and over without ruining ourselves.
