weird related editions

I've had some weird related editions pop up over the years, put this time is special. The same John Grisham book has shown up as a related edition to three different unrelated books. I think the database has had a nervous breakdown or something.

Vancouver area moochers inviting Washington

I've started a Vancouver meeting forum. I am hoping other Vancouver area moochers might like to meet. I also want to invite any Washington area moochers to come who would like to take a day trip (or longer) to the Vancouver area. The date was chosen randomly and can be changed. The time and place are to be determined by the attendees (if I get any). Check out the forum here [forum:vancouver_area_moochers] and join the planning!

Importing Amazon Wishlist

the_lilac_olive wrote: Could someone please help me with adding my wishlist from Amazon to here please? I'm new here, and wanted to get my wishlist up and running before I start adding some of my own books to give away. I've tried the importing and giving the url of my Amazon wishlist, but for some reason its not working. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you :) From your wishlist, use the pull down menu on the top right. Select "import into wishlist". Paste the URL of your wishlist into the appropriate window. I use the compact view but I don't suppose it really makes a difference. Make sure you select the correct version of Amazon. Click "get the document from the web". Every once in a while it gets glitchy and totally random stuff will appear on the confirmation page, if that happens, wait a while and try again. If the confirmation page shows the books you want, confirm the books you want to import and then click away. It should work fine. I know some people have accidently imported their wishist into their inventory. It has never happened to me so I don't know how they did it but you might want to go to your wishlist after you are done and make sure it looks okay.

Interested in Spanish Books?

The Inactive Accounts Clean-up Project crew have posted quite a few links to inactive accounts in Columbia and Chile. Some of the accounts are set to worldwide, so if you could take a look and see if there are any books that might interest you (even slightly) and mooch them it might awaken some accounts. If not, you can vacation them after 7 days. Thanks for taking a look.

RSS feeds and Firefox

Hi all,
I love Firefox generally. Much prefer it to Explorer or Safari. However, I can't seem to get my wishlist RSS feed to work consistently. I don't have a problem with news feeds and other RSS feeds, just the Bookmooch ones. I've tried clearing cache, manually reloading and still no luck. Anyone have any luck with this problem? thanks!

revisiting reservations again

A question for discussion: One of the forums here is "A Book Search Among Friends" where people can ask about a book they are trying to find and presumably others will post and reserve the book for them. How does this differ from someone adding a book, noticing that a good mooching buddy has it on their wishlist and reserving it for them?

This came to mind because someone was asking in the Newbie forum asking about how to reserve a book for a friend who had it on their wishlist and then quickly wrote a "never mind" message indicating she had read that this was frowned upon.
