The story of Dyke Signposter (what a name!), a travelling signwriter, whose job was to pace out the distances, check those measurements, and paint (or renew) signposts. In his horsedrawn covered caravan, he tours Flockshire all Summer with his family, camping on verges along the way; and all the time planning a reunion of his whole extended family, the Flockshire Smiths. This is an ex-library book in good condition except for the top edge of the pages, which are very grubby. |
