Every semester, Black Hawk College's art and writing professors collaborate to produce a collection of their students' greatest creations. It's like a magazine or journal, but the pages are very high quality materials, and there are no ads. This year is the FIRST APPEARANCE of the "Art Fusion," as it used to be called "Images." With so many excellent entries, however, the professors decided this year to split the collections into two separate works, "Art Fusion" and "Voices." Its publication is 2007, not 2006, but BookMooch didn't have that option yet. There are a number of short stories, poems, and artwork displayed throughout that we're sure you'll enjoy! Here are a few excerpts from THIS issue:
"Weight of Waiting"
And to you I'd give the world
Tied up in ribbon in a small burgundy box
All that is wrong and all that is right
All the days of sorrow and every joyful night
All the curly grins and every pair of frowning eyes
And with every fortune made so easily
And all the stars that shine bright
You politely refuse
Still I have the world
Caught up in my eyes with the rain
And I have tiny birds with big songs
And giggling children's carelessness
I have empty hands and a painfully open heart
And still you teach me patience
But comfort comes in knowing
That it's something I need
So I'll wait
