Product Description
If it hadn't rained that day, none of this story would have happened. But it did rain--a thunder storm, in fact. Suki loved both the rain and the thunder, and so she could not figure out why her best friend, an invisible peacock who lived in the Paradise tree outside her window, hated the rain.
"I hate to get web," the big bird said when Suki asked him to go to school with her. "All peacocks hate rain."
The rain was not really what caused the trouble that lay ahead for Suki. But it was the reason Best Friend was not with her, and without him, she was lost. Oh, Suki didn't know she was lost without him, but she really was, because that day she did something she had never done before in her life. If it hadn't rained--if Best Friend had gone to school with her--she might not have borrowed the old umbrella.
But then, if she hadn't borrowed the old umbrella, she might not have found a new friend, a visible friend, who understood about the umbrella just the way Best Friend said he would.
From these two friends, Suki learned something very important. Something she would never forget.
