Product Description
At the outset I will say that I am a huge fan of James Rollins' stand alone novels. I definately prefer them to the Sigma Force franchise, although I have not read that many Sigma Force novels (it may be an unfair comparison). Excavation follows a group of young archeologists who have discovered a hidden underground city and lost tribe not too mention a very funky golden substance. As usual Rollins opens with a neat prologue that sets up the story, there's the usual nefarious types and stoic heroes. I did not enjoy Excavation as much as Subterranean and Amazonia, but that's just personal preference. Excavation is a good read and exciting. As with both those novels, I would recommend Excavation for teenage boys and older. There is some language and violence, but nothing that wouldn't be heard or seen on TV, and its a small price to pay to get teenage boys reading. That being said, my father-in-law loves these books as do I.
