Product Description
Hypatia was an Egyptian woman philosopher, mathematician, and astronomer who lived in Alexandria from her birth in about 370 A.D. until her death in 415. She was the leader of the Neoplatonic School in Alexandria and was famous as an eloquent and inspiring teacher. The journal Hypatia is named in honor of this foresister. This issue is the second in a two-part special issue on multicultural and postcolonial feminist philosophy. The authors in this volume are interested in exploring how multicultural, global, and postcolonial institutions, cultures and practices create opportunities for raising new questions, engaging in new kinds of dialogues and discussions on new topics with new conversational partners, and organizing different kinds of social relations than might be likely or, perhaps, even possible otherwise.
