Supersailor (USA: FL) (2011/07/25): This book was rather unusual for me. This book reads like a scifi mystery. I read it in one sitting. The cover notes and first page teaser read as follows:"When vast lowering shadows blacken a sunlit sky, guard against the menance of the invisible intruder from space who kills - destroys." "Henderson turned in puzzlement as the opposite side of the room seemed to darken slightly. Beyond the window behind him, the brilliant sun still shining. The corners of the room became very dark and a heavy shadow fell across the wall. When his hand reached out for the phone something seemed to prevent him from uncradling it, and all he could do was stare down at the thin film of darkness that was creeping over his fingers, turning the knuckles black. The darkness brightened just before it reached him, flared up in so terrible a way that he had to fling his arm across his face to protect his eyes. He did not see the fiery shape emerge from out of the brightness, pulsating and many-angled, and filling his ears with a soukndless screaming. He felt only the pain, the agony of its searing passage."
