Product Description
"It is far from my desire to write anything so formidable as a biography of Kahlil Gibran. I do wish to write as simply and directly as possible of the Gibran I knew, the man among his friends, in his studio at work with pencil or brush, the tireless one, the one who was ready sometimes with singing and laughter, always with quick understanding and instant recognition of good work from the pen of a fellow worker, and with the unerring finger to point out a failure to record 'the inevitable word in the inevitable place.'"--from the Foreword of author Barbara Young.

Elizabeth D (USA: WI) (2007/10/13): A distinctly hagiographical biography of Kahlil Gibran, author of the spiritual book "The Prophet," written by a friend and disciple of his. Explores the question of "was Gibran a Christian?" and determines that although he did not call himself a Christian, was clearly not an orthodox Christian, and "belonged to no sect. He had no ism" he was nevertheless "the greatest Christian of all" and "a mystic in the perfect and perfected sense." In other words, no he was not a Christian, but the biographer had a huge spiritual crush on him.
