I read THE DETECTIVE AND THE BURGLAR back in July 2020, and really enjoyed it, so when I saw that the author had written a previous book featuring two of the supporting characters, I ordered it from Amazon. This one started out a bit slow for me, but once it picked up I enjoyed it almost as much as the second book. Though I'm a bit confused. If I remember correctly, the heroine of the second book was at the inn to evaluate and appraise the paintings that the heroine of this book, Kristina, was going to sell. And this book starts before that appraisal, and then at the end the paintings have been sold. So it would seem that the second book takes place during the events of the first book, and yet...the second book changes the narrative/timeline of Katrina and the hockey player's romance...maybe it's just been too long and I'm not remembering correctly, but I think I am. Anyway, even though it took me a little bit to get caught up in the story, I still ended up enjoying it.
