This book was written in 1994. Everyone knows the story of the Exorcist, probably from the hit horror film. This book follows the life of little girl, Regan. One day, Regan changes, and her mother takes her to multiple doctors to find out what’s wrong. When doctors can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong with her, her mother begins to think the girl is possessed. At her wits end, she enlists the help of a Jesuit priest, named Father Damien Karras. Karras feels way over his head when he encounters the demon and enlists the help of a well known exorcist named Father Merrin, whom the demon seems to know very intimately. The two of them use all their might to fight the demon, risking their lives to save little Regan. In the end, Father Karras realizes he must sacrifice himself to save the little girl. |
