Product Description
In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. articulated his dream, JFK was assassinated, and zip codes were first introduced to the US. The world was monumentally changing and changing fast. But in the eyes of future fantasy author Peter Beagle and his best friend Phil, it wasn't changing fast enough. For these two twenty-something beatnik Jews from the Bronx, change was something you chased after night and day across the country on the trembling seat of a motor scooter.

mb (USA: MI) (2015/02/24): Enjoyable story about a cross-country trip with his friend, Phil. Bit of a love song to scooters too. Serendipity and all that. It was an interesting read. All the weird, random and excellent things that happen while you are traveling seem to occur in this book. Feels like a simpler time, besides the possible prostitute from Ventura, there was very little crime or illegal activity mentioned. It's strange being born during the eighties and wishing (or knowing that your spirit yens for the sixties) you'd been born in a different decade. It's all good.
