Product Description
Tony Blair is a Labour politician who became Prime Minister in 1997. In 1992 he came second to Gordon Brown in the list of those elected to the shadow cabinet, and after the sudden death of John Smith they seemed to the two likeliest candidates to succeed him. Brown stood down, yet is likely to succeed Blair, when he resigns as prime minister sometime during the term of this present parliament, having been elected a record three times, the first time in 1997. He is therefore the last prime minister of the 20th century and one of the most controversial ones, being frequently accused of abandoning cabinet government and introducing a presidential style of leadership.
