Reprints of articles from Strings magazine. There's little if any information here that you couldn't find on the web. Key to getting a dream instrument? Have a lot of money and either try a lot of instruments, ideally in the company of an expert, or else commission a custom instrument made to your specifications by a really good maker. If you're hoping there's some secret to it, nope, there isn't (at least not in the pages of this book). If you don't have a lot of money, you might still find something unusually good for the price if you just keep trying more and more instruments until you get lucky.
