samharnold (United Kingdom) (2010/06/01): I had heard about this book before I knew about it. I remember seeing the book and never picking it up at the local book shop, a typical example of the cover not selling the book. Then several friends mentioned the book within a week and I decided to give it a try.My advice is to struggle through the first 50 pages if I was to be honest I thought they were mad as I struggled to read through the first chapters. After that the book grips you and takes you on an amazing journey. This is a brilliant crime novel not so much for the crime investigated, but by the characters the author introduces you too. One of the twists I thought could be possible at the beginning however the major twist was a mystery right up to the end. The only disappointing factor with this book is that the author died before he saw his success realised. Can't wait to read the second in the trilogy.
