Product Description
Helix is a fast-paced action adventure novel following the plight of four humans when they crashland on what they think is a desolate, ice-bound planet. Daylight brings the discovery that the planet is one of thousands arranged in a vast spiral wound about a central sun. They set off to discover a more habitable, Earth-like world and come across strange races of aliens, and life-threatening perils, on their way.

ChristopherA (USA: CA) (2009/04/16): This book attempts to follow the footsteps of Larry Niven Ring World by creating a fantastic world built as a helix around a sun, and the adventure stories coming from landing there and competing with all the different cultures collected there. Unforunately, Brown is both too derivative and not as deep as Niven's engineering, aliens, and future thoughts on the future of society. The opening chapters before crash landing on the helix I enjoyed a lot, so I might consider a future work by Eric Brown, but overall the book was below average. (Xenagia 4/10) (Amazon 2/5)
