Grace Angelo, witch and retired detective, is looking forward to a night of glitz and glamour. Her friend Dario, a local bookstore owner, has invited her to a prestigious book award event, but the celebrations are cut short when one of the winners is found dead. Hemlock Cove PD's detective, Zachary Jackson, is quickly on the case, and it soon becomes apparent they have a murder on their hands. Grace agrees to consult on the case and recruits Dario to help. The murder, however, is only one of Grace's concerns. Her special cat, Charity, is ill, cutting Grace's connection with the spirit of her mother. And to make matters worse, Dario senses a malevolent entity lurking in the shadows. Grace will need every ounce of her abilities if she's to solve these mysteries and bring justice to Hemlock Cove.
