Product Description
What is a tribe? One source says it's "a unit of sociopolitical organization consisting of a group who share a common ancestry and culture." Gracie's Tribe is less grandiose, more like a large family. Like most families when a threatening and unanticipated event is dropped into their midst, the ripples from that event toss them about, capsizing some, causing others to struggle to stay afloat, and even threatening the very lives of a few. Gracie's Tribe is about such an event and its repercussions. One minute pulling the Tribe back to shared memories, the next minute propelling them forward into an unknown future, while, at the same time, challenging the fragile structure that has held them together. Gracie's Tribe is Janice Naylor's second novel. Her first novel, Sea Story, was published in 2013. Ms. Naylor began writing professionally four years ago. Her stories have been published in newspapers, anthologies, and on websites. She maintains her own website and blog entitled, "Red Geraniums on a Summer Day," (www.redgeranium.org), and a Facebook page entitled "Janice Naylor-Chapter 2," an informal site where all writers are invited to share their successes, ideas, disappointments, and insights.
