Description: Product Description
Trying to escape her past sends Melissa running straight into Duncan's arms. For the last ten years, Melissa has successfully run from her bastard stepfather, but now her luck has run out. Forced to take help from a bouncer at her favorite club, she must now face her demons. But when Duncan says and does all the right things, she wonders if hes too good to be true. Initially, Duncan offers to help Melissa out of kindness. As a former assassin he knows how difficult life can be with skeletons in the closet. His act of friendship, however, turns into much more. Though he knows he isnt good enough for such an angel, the thought of living without her brings him to his knees. Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, and violence.
Reviews: Don (USA: NV) (2010/03/01):
Good read. The heroine, Melissa, is a human rescued by a vampire from an abusive stepfather who was on the verge of raping her when she was 14. As an adult, she is still terrified of him. And now he is back and stalking her... The hero, Duncan, is a vampire who is drawn in by her fears. First he offers just to listen but as time passes they become more than friends. [Unlike the average erotic novel - they don't actually make it all the way until after page 100.] They both have serious self-esteem issues...

Although primarily a relationship book, there's lots of action in the stalker plot. The characters are well developed - only the wicked stepfather is stereotypically slime. Good resolution - a nice HEA.

I haven't read the first two books and I had no trouble following - so I'm guessing order is not particularly important.

2. Novel Experience
3. Night's Promise
