Product Description
This inspirational true story beautifully relates the proper perspective of a servant's heart. It subtly challenges others to greater compassion and to totally trust the Lord.
Juanita McComb, the "Bird Girl," gave up a profitable career as an educational entertainer to answer a higher calling. Her God-given ability to realistically imitate the calls of birds and animals became a useful tool to spread the gospel in many western villages where the good news was unknown.
Later, as Mrs. Bissell Garrett, God used this dedicated couple in youth work, rescue missions and at Hume Lake Christian Camp. After 7 years God led them to southern Ireland where they became foster parents. After all his earthly wealth was invested in eternal ministries Mr. Bissell Garrett was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father.
During the next 4 years, Aunt Birdie served needy children in a State home and then went on to Colombia to teach the children of missionaries.
Marrying Frank McKimens, she learned to trust God for guidance during their 18 years while the Lord prepared an Alzheimer's husband for his heavenly home. Out of the crucible, God produced marvelous fruit.
Throughout the next decade, the Lord took her around the world to share her illustrated Bible studies, object lessons, and puppets for prisoners, their families, and anyone who needed to hear about God's love.
Now she is back in her King City home. She is still going strong as an encourager and prayer partner for the lives touched by her committed life. Where prayers focus, power falls.
