Depositions and Discovery is the sixth volume in the NITA Practice Commentaries series. This publication presents a brief and focused review of the basic issues and practice concepts surrounding depositions and discovery, focusing on the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Part V, Depositions and Discovery, Rules 26 through 37. In addition, Rule 45, Subpoena, and its commentary are included because of the central importance of the rule in achieving the goals of discovery. Finally, the volume includes commentaries on 28 USC §§ 1781, 1782, and 1783 and the statutes themselves, which deal with the process of gathering information at the request of non-U.S. judicial authorities and obtaining information in foreign jurisdictions.
