Her reasons for taking the trip are shrouded in resentment and guilt. Resentment because her ex mother-in-law badgered her into going, and guilt because her major reason for agreeing to the trip was that it would be free.

Once there she gets a jolt when she looks into the eyes of her hostess, Annee Rien, her ex-husband's aunt, and finds there the deep blue of her ex's eyes and all the memories of falling in love.
