Are you ready to mix it up with a little crazy, a little adventure, some romance and defying death?

A steampunk/science fiction novel.

With all of time at risk, it's a bad time to fall in love...unless it's the only time...

Robert Clementyne is going on a transmogrification machine hunt. He fears finding the machine will be as difficult as pronouncing the name. How can the steam-powered device perform as advertised, and how useful can any information be, coming from a steampunk themed bowling alley/museum?
It's pretty crazy, but he's been there, done that, and thinks he can handle it.

And then he meets the proprietor/curator...Emily Babcock.

Emily grew up in crazy, still lives in it--hey, it's her freaking zip code. So no worries when Robert and his team walk into her bowling alley. The first visitorsĀ everĀ to her museum.

But neither of them is prepared for what happens when they open the door to the past...and the future. With a side trip through Roswell...and a face-to-face meeting with an evil genius/wannabe--who is on his way to becoming evil overlord-of-everything...

When I turned this book into my then-editor, she asked how I made crazy seem so reasonable. I told her my husband would like to know that, too. I will tell you that when I sent Robert and Emily on their wild and crazy journey, I had no idea where it would end either.

That's how I roll.

It's great fun, but sometimes it feels like your head is going to explode. And when you write BABs (big a** books), that can happen a lot. Like every day. Good news: no brains were exploded in the writing of this book. But it was a near thing.

Who would like this book?

Readers who like their science fiction made up.
Readers who like science fiction, space opera and some romance thrown in because love is cool.
Readers who like quirky and are willing to give quirky steampunk a chance.
Readers who like action and adventure.
Readers who like time travel.
Readers who like to laugh.
Readers who don't mind risking their head exploding because of too much made up science fiction.

When I started STEAMROLLED, I expected it to be the end of my PROJECT ENTERPRISE series. The big finish. Well, it is big, but it isn't the finish. I couldn't shoehorn in Ashe's subplot and wrap-up, so the story continues with KICKING ASHE. And then there's a couple of short stories set in the PROJECT ENTERPRISE universe. PROJECT ENTERPRISE: THE SHORT STORIES is where the stories are collected.

So the whole series is: THE KEY, GIRL GONE NOVA, TANGLED IN TIME, STEAMROLLED and KICKING ASHE, with the short stories thrown in just for fun. I think I'm done, but I've learned to never say never. Sometimes the character you don't expect, comes knocking at your brain in the middle of the night and the next thing you know, you off on a space ship or whisked through time to Roswell, NM.

In other news, I wrote seven books before PROJECT UNIVERSE. One of them is also time travel, though it is about time travel to World War II. It's called OUT OF TIME. If you want to know more about my books, check out my website at paulinebjones.com.
