The cross became know as Mabel’s Cross (Mabs Cross). Follow her spirit on her journey of penance throughout the ages, from the 1300s, the rebuilding of the Hall in the 1800s, and up to the present day. And if you’re passing through Wigan and you see a white figure on Wigan Lane, don’t be too surprised.
