Excerpt: Frank "Paco" Ahlgren is an American financial expert, novelist, and self-promoter. Born Frank Richard Ahlgren, III, his parents soon nicknamed him "Paco"Spanish for Francisco. Ahlgren continues to be known by this name almost exclusively. In his late teens, Ahlgren began a career as a professional musician with the band the Bentley Tock. The band performed along the east coast in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Ahlgren was the lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. The Bentley Tock began recording in 1989, releasing their first self-titled EP. They released their second and final album, "Able," in 1992. Ahlgren studied music theory, English, philosophy, psychology, and modern scientific and social theories. Eventually, he earned a degree in finance and worked as an economist and analyst for nearly two decades. For several years, Ahlgren closely studied subjects ranging from eastern epistemology and metaphysics, to subatomic science. Ahlgren Capital Management opened it's doors in 1998, and it was through this company that Ahlgren managed his value-based hedge fund, the Popperian Group. He derived his strategies largely from the principles of such legendary investors as Warren Buffett, Benjamin Graham, and Philip A.
