Down Under All Over is a collection of personal stories that profess one woman's love of Australia. Returning to this vast continent 20 years after her first visit, Barbara Marie Brewster's exploration is enthusiastic, impulsive, and playful: "It had been years since I'd played in the surf. Discovering the surf anew at middle age brought me into a new relationship with it. There was no winning or losing, no teamwork or rules--just float and bob and dunk and fling myself ahead of the rollicking waves, and straddle up in the swirling foam to wade back to the next regiment clustering one atop the other." There is no winning or losing in the rest of this exuberant account of Brewster's time in Australia, either--just a palpable affection for the country and its people.
