Product Description
Contains perhaps the greatest epic poem of revolution in twentieth century literature. Milev's `September', written to commemorate the uprising of Bulgarian workers and peasants in 1923 (regarded in Bulgaria as the first anti-fascist rising in Europe), is a poem of astonishing power. The poem cost him his life; he was convicted by military authorities for publishing a seditious work and was murdered in custody in 1925 at the age of thirty. This includes an extract from the film script made of Milev's life, and an introduction and preface by his daughter.
