"The Australian people and Australia's basic interests have been treated with disdain in the establishment, maintenance, and operation of American military and intelligence facilities in Australia. Indeed, certain operations undertaken by the CIA at Pine Gap have never officially been made known to the Australian Government. It is even difficult to determine the precise number of such installations in Australia. But they include satellite ground stations and electronic intelligence stations."
