Stuart (USA: CA) (2007/02/20): This is one of my very favorite philosophy books by a not-very-well-known, but brilliant philosopher. As you might notice from my bio, I am a philosophy teacher, and therefore know something of what I say here. One of the very unique features for a philosophical text is that Kaufmann includes lots of photographs, mostly from his personal travels, but each of them elucidates the textual material. I think this book is appropriate both the the philosophically trained and the layperson. I cannot recommend it too highly. I am only listing it here as it is a second copy.
