I choose this book recently and just finished reading it and its amazing. I pretty much read it in one day; it was that good. Since I am reading another book about a tragic incident I thought "Lets Roll" would probably be a real downer but Im amazed that when I put this book down I felt hope in my heart. How could a book about such sorrow and tragedy be so uplifting and so inspiring? How could loss of life be something to admire and respect? I know. Because of the Beamers faith in God and that faith. Because of their families faith in God. This faith comes through each letter, each word, each line, so that by the time you finish reading this book you actually feel peace and optomistic.
I loved David Beamers speech at Todds eulogy when he said so appropriately, that these terrorists choose the wrong plane ( speaking of United 93) and referring to the fact his son and other brave men where on board.I so agreed! But when he said after that these terrorists choose the wrong team! Thats when my heart leaped in my chest. Indeed they did choose the wrong team and Im glad their false god is not my God, the Living God of heaven.
In the days we live in more men disappoint than not and most times they make me sick at my stomach with their schemes and arrogance, but this Christian man, Todd Beamer, and his lovely Christian wife Lisa, did God proud, and in doing so, did us all proud. So it is possible to have a life, unnoticed, unsung, and die well. Todd Beamer, died well. No matter the life we are given, we can, because of God, die well! I dont say many good things about people these days, mostly because their still alive and will screw it up somehow down the line, we all do, we are human, but I can say, because Todd is in heaven, that Todd was a good man because he choose the right team to be on...he choose Gods team. And unlike the men who yelled out about God as they killed all on board, they did not die well, and their god will disappoint them in the end.
God bless men and woman like this, and as Ive always thought, behind every good man, every truely Christian man, is the reason he is a hero, his wife. God bless you Lisa. God bless you and your family, thank you for your testimony and your book. Liberals hate it, most secular stores hate it, Obama hates it, and thats why I know its a true treasure, with riches for the Beamer family for all eternity.
