This was such a beautiful book, all the right elements for a great fantasy quest novel. Mythical creatures, powerful magic, ominous enemy, unrequited young love... and there are laughs and "aww"'s aplenty. I really enjoyed this one, it felt kind of like Eragon (sans dragon, plus unicorn though) it was that kind of joyous-in-the-face-of-dark feel. Highly recommended!
