If you've never read any Card, you owe it to yourself. He has a grip on human emotions and motives that is often so spot-on it's scary. This is the third in one of my favorite Card series. He blends fantasy and history with the touch of a wizard, and shows us an early America that might have been. This is just a plain old good story by any measure.
