Claude Monet is remembered for painting his "impression" of a scene, from the entrancing blues and greens of lily pads in a pond to glowing haystacks in a field. He spent years studying the effects of light and color as the days and seasons passed, and is thought of as the father of the "Impressionist" movement. Here's a chance for kids to meet the people who taught Monet--Eugene Boudin, Johan Jongkind, and others--and see how their paintings are similar to his own.
