Tasha (USA: WA) (2007/03/11): It's a good book and pretty funny. It's even more interesting when you've read his brother's (Frank McCourt) memoirs. But this book had a lot of bluntness, like sex. It wasn't explicit but he did talk a lot about how he really wanted sex. This book is very honest and you find yourself cheering for him and wondering how come you didn't hear about him before! ♥princessjulia♥ (USA: DE) (2008/06/16): I totallt agree with Tasha that this book is better if you've read Frank McCourts' book. It is a very honest book and if you like memoirs in general and/or the story of the McCourts lives and childhood then I'd think this would be a great book. Tikay (USA: CA) (2011/10/24): I've yet to finish this delightful read, but it is one of those books that when you think of it lying there, (near your current reading spot), you will smile inside, and probably long to get back to that spot and to the enjoyment of reading and relishing the rest, a book to be savored, and like a good wine, sipped slowly.
