BOOK DESCRIPTION:

8 SANDPIPER WAY
CEDAR COVE, WASHINGTON

DEAR READER:

I have something to confide in you. I think my husband, Dave, might be having an affair. I found an earring in his pocket, and it's not mine. I'm also worried because some jewelry was recently stolen from an old woman --- and Dave used to visit her a lot.

You see, he's a pastor. And a good man. I can't believe he's guilty of anything, but why won't he tell me where he's been when he comes home so late?

Reader, I'd love to hear what you think. I also want to tell you what's going on with your other friends in Cedar Cove. Like Sheriff Troy Davis, to mention one. His long-ago love, Faith Beckwith, just moved here!

So come on in and join me for a cup of tea.

EMILY FLEMING

Marianne (Australia) (2012/07/08):
8 Sandpiper Way is the 8th in the Cedar Cove series by Debbie Macomber. As well as favourite well-known characters making a welcome reappearance, Macomber introduces the reader to some new characters, and she gets the reader more involved in some of the background characters from earlier novels in the series. It’s Thanksgiving, and in the busy time before the Holiday, Olivia Lockhart Griffin faces breast cancer with the support of husband Jack, her dear friend, Grace, and her extended family. Emily Flemming becomes suspicious that her husband, Pastor Dave, is seeing another woman. Troy Davis rues his decision to break off his budding reacquaintance with his long-ago love, Faith Beckwith. Tanni Bliss, still grieving for her father after his death by motorcycle accident, finds she has something in common with Shaw, Anson Butler’s friend. Teri Miller Polgar’s sister Christie finds she cannot ignore the attentions of James Wilbur. As always, Macomber launches a few new issues which are left unresolved (a dead body in a cave, a departed driver) so the reader will be eager for the next instalment, and gives the reader a handy character list at the front. This volume also contains an interview about Christmas with the author and segues neatly into the Christmas special edition, A Cedar Cove Christmas. A very enjoyable read.
