This is an amazing book. I have never before read anything or known much about polygamy, but this book intriguied me and now I find myself obsessed and horrified with this issue. The beginning of the book made me sick to my stomach hearing of the abuse she endured and her day to day life. It's horrible what this woman went through. The end of the book is amazing though. I just couldn't stop smiling and feeling so utterly happy for her and her children to have finally escaped and to be living a normal life. Very well written and you will NOT want to put this book down. I give it a 10 out of 10. A MUST READ!!!

EXTREMELY well written and AMAZING. I read it in under two days and stopped the other book I was reading immediately. Honestly, I had already formed a negative opinion of this woman for "allowing" herself and her children to be abused but after readinf the book my opinion has totally changed. Being that she was literally born into this way of life, with her mother and grandmother before her, she knew nothing else. Without the strentgh and dtermination she would have never had even a hope of succeeding in getting away from the man she married "because of a revelation from God." It's insanely scary that something this off the wall can be happening in the world in this day and age but it does. Why she still carries his name I don't know but Carolyn Jessop does an amazing job of really taking you into the life and letting you see EVERYTHING. I'd recommend buying it instead of waiting, haven't ever said that before! :) READ IT!!!
