sue (USA: OR) (2011/12/02): Whether it's riding bikes, catching snakes, or sliding down banisters. Essie Spreckelmeyer just can't quite make herself into the ideal woman her hometown-and her mother-expect her to be. It's going to take an extreaordinary man to appreciate her joy and spontaneity, or so says her doting oilman father. Sadly such a man doesn't appear to reside in Corsicana, Texas.
Darlene E. Neiser (USA: TX) (2014/03/18): Essie is thirty years old, excentric and the central character in this western romance story. She is determined to marry and have a house full of kids. In order to do this she has to try to change her character which she finds very difficult and uncomfortable. She makes choices which sometimes backfire or are poor choices. Esssie falls in love but it changes her life foreever. It is a fun story with moments of sadness but Essie does triumph in the end.
